Allan Pease - The Answer
The Answer by Allan Pease
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
It’s a self help-y kind of book. There’s a lot of uncited information about how the brain works, some parts make you roll your eyes and lots of repeating the same information all over.
Even though there is a lot of self help crap, the useful info and the thoughts inside the book make it worth reading.
Every chapter gave me a note where I learned something. Some chapters made me think on the information provided, which let me realise stuff in other contexts. And some chapters were full of important info (for example in the second to last chapter there was lots of info on how they managed to sell their books when starting out).
There is also a helpful summary at the end, which made me realise how much there is to this book - without all the crap.
All in all: in my translation of the book, there is a brain on a leash - a metaphor on how you can get your brain under control and make it work for you. I think this book gave me that and that was the ultimate reason why I read it.
4.5 out of 5 stars. The crap is worth the good information.
