A solid warhammer book with a nice story and nice characters. At first I did not like Belisarius Cawl that much, but he has grown on me throughout the book. Also the other main character Felix is also interesting.

What unfortunately took away from this book were a plethora of supporting characters that I did not remember at all. The sames were all similar and there were so many rankings and things to remember that even at the end I did not remember most of them.I tried Googling the characters, but they are not written anywhere.
Another negative thing I’ve experienced about this book is that it could have 100 pages less and it would have been the same. In the midpoint there really is not much happening.

3.5 stats, rounded down to three, because these negatives are major. Right now I’m glad I’ve read the book, but it wasn’t really rewarding to read it, so I had major trouble picking it up to read it.
